3 Injured In Stafford Crash On Route 72: Police

All the injuries were minor, but one woman received a summons for careless driving, police said.

Three people sustained minor injuries in an accident Saturday night on Route 72 at Nautilis Drive in Stafford, police said. Mary Yeckley, 75, received a summons for careless driving, according to police.

Yeckley, of Manahawkin, travelled eastbound on Route 72 and attempted to turn left onto Nautilus Drive at about 8 p.m., police said. Michael Elassar, 19, of Manahawkin, drove westbound on Route 72 through the intersection, according to police.

The vehicles collided in the intersection, causing significant damage before both were towed, according to police. Yeckley, Elassar and an unnamed passenger in Yeckley's vehicle sustained minor injuries and were taken to Southern Ocean Medical Center, police said.
