5 Members Of Manahawkin Family Injured In Vermont Crash: Police
Both adults suffered serious injuries and are in stable condition. The other driver was charged with reckless endangerment, police said.
WEST HAVEN, VT — Five members of a Manahawkin family were injured in a two-vehicle crash Sunday morning, Vermont State Police announced. Both adults — Greg and Holly Smith — suffered serious injuries, but were reported stable at the hospital Wednesday. Their three children sustained minor injuries.
The other driver involved — Jenna Latterreur, of Essex, Vermont — was charged with gross negligent operation and reckless endangerment, police said. Latterreur left her lane and hit the Smith family's car partially head-on, according to authorities.
Greg Smith, the driver, was extracted from the vehicle and taken to Rutland Regional Medical Center. Holly Smith, the front passenger, was taken to University of Vermont Medical Center. The three children — ages 6, 9 and 11 — were taken to Rutland Regional Medical Center.
