Barnegat Woman Faces Drug Charges After Motor Vehicle Stop In Manahawkin

Stafford police stopped Briann Pesce at the intersection of Atlantis Avenue and Mermaid Drive.

Stafford Township police recently arrested a Barnegat woman on drug charges after she went through a stop sign at the intersection of Atlantis Avenue and Mermaid Drive, Capt. Thomas J. Dellane said.

Patrolman Jacob Conner stopped Brianna Pesce, 19, Main Street, a 1:40 a.m. on May 8 when her Chevrolet Impala went through the intersection on a red light, he said.

A subsequent investigation revealed she was in possession of suspected marijuana and suspected drug paraphernalia. Pesce was placed under arrest, transported to police headquarters where she was processed and released with a future court date, Dellane said.

Pesce was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance under 50 grams, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of drugs in a motor vehicle and failure to stop at a stop sign, he said.
