A Better Vision for Barnegat

It’s been a long time since I’ve written a blog here on the Patch. I’ve been pretty busy with various elections and issue campaigns over the last several years……..but I have to tell you that I’m really excited about our local Barnegate elections this year. We have two wonderful Democratic candidates running for Barnegat Township Committee – Armando Quiroz and Craig Kleinfield.

You might remember Armando Quiroz from when he served on the Barnegat School Board at the “ripe old age” of 19. He is now a young man of 24 who is interested in giving back to his community. After being in the 2nd graduating class at Barnegat High School and obtaining his teaching credentials at Kean University, this Bengal went on to teach in Monmouth County, as well as in Barnegat. He then earned his Master’s Degree abroad in Spain, while teaching there as well. Fortunately for us, Armando has now returned and wants to make a difference in Barnegat. There are so many issues to be addressed. He has been so disappointed to see how much worse things are here at home since he left a few years ago. He wants to be a catalyst for a positive change in how we run our government right here in Barnegat.

Craig Kleinfield is a 38-year resident of Barnegat where he raised his two children who attended our local schools. Craig’s daughter actually had the honor of being the first female from Southern Regional to attend our Naval Academy at Annapolis. In fact, Craig’s grandson is now scheduled to attend Annapolis as well. Craig is a former sales manager who, since his retirement, has been frustrated with the ineffective, inefficient and incompetent management of our town – so he threw his hat in the ring to try and help bring about a much-needed change in our community.

I am happy to be managing the Quiroz and Kleinfield campaign and look forward to working hard to see that these two fine men get elected.
