Cyclist Injured After Colliding With Car On Rt. 72: Stafford PD

The bicyclist was flown to the hospital with a head injury, police said.

MANAHAWKIN, NJ — A cyclist injured their head after colliding with a car Saturday morning on Route 72, police said. Officials airlifted the bicyclist to AltantiCare's Trauma Center in Atlantic City.

The accident took place at about 9:41 a.m. on Route 72, in front of Bed, Bath, and Beyond. A driver was moving through the right lane when a cyclist entered the lane, police said.

The cyclist cut through stopped vehicles on two lanes of Route 72 before entering the driver's path. The cyclist then hit the vehicle and windshield before landing on the asphalt, police said.

The cyclist is in observational status, police said Saturday. Police did not identify them because family members were not yet notified.
