The home, on Holly Drive in Loveladies, is directly on the water on the bayside of LBI. It is a seasonal home and there were no occupants at the time of the fire, Barnegat Light firefighters said.

As crews were excavating through the burned debris, a crew member fell and injured their head, Barnegat Light firefighters said. They were airlifted to a trauma center.

At about 2 p.m., firefighters were called back to the home for reports of the fire rekindling. There was a slight smoldering at the top of the remaining structure, officials said.

They finally finished work around 8 p.m. Monday night.

The unofficial cause of the fire is electrical and the Ocean County Fire Marshal's Office is investigating.
