HARVEY CEDARS, N.J. — A Harvey Cedars cop pleaded guilty to taking an all-terrain vehicle for himself that was meant to be a donation to the police department, officials announced Thursday. Sean Marti, of Stafford, is scheduled for sentencing June 20, the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office said.

Marti was a sergeant in summer 2017, when he became aware that a resident wanted to donate a Polaris ATV to the Harvey Cedars Police Department, the OCPO said. He accepted the ATV and stored it at his home for personal use, according to officials.

The OCPO recovered the ATV in December 2018. Per the plea agreement, Marti had to forfeit employment with Harvey Cedars PD and cannot work in any public position in New Jersey.
