UPDATED STORY: Former Manahawkin Man Found Murdered In Vermont Was Shot Multiple Times, Burlington Police Say
While Burlington police in Vermont are investigating the suspicious death of a former Stafford Township man, his friends and family back in Manahawkin are mourning his loss.
The body of 23-year-old Kevin Deoliveria was found in a home at 58 Greene Street in Burlington on Saturday night. Burlington police have ruled out suicide and an accident as a cause of death and have tentatively labeled the death as a homicide, according to a story in the Burlington Free Press.

Deoliveria was a 2009 graduate of Southern Regional High School and also attended the University of Vermont. He played soccer and volleyball at Southern, said Rev. Pat Sharkey, who was the family’s pastor when they attended King of Kings Community Church in Manahawkin.
“Kevin was very kind and friendly,” Sharkey said. ”He had a lot of friends. He was very involved in our youth group and attended regularly at King of Kings when I was the pastor there until he went away to college. He was raised by mom alone and they were very close.”

Kevin‘s mother married David Longinetti when Kevin was around 10 and they became a “great family,“ Sharkey said.
“He was just home on Christmas and the family had a beautiful time together,” he said.
A memorial service for Kevin will be held later in the week at the Cedar Run Assembly of God Church, he said. Patch will publish the details of the service as soon as information is available.
