Four Arrested In Major Drug Bust In Wawa Parking Lot In Barnegat

300 doses of heroin and 10 grams of cocaine were seized in afternoon arrests.

Detectives from the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office and several Southern Ocean County police departments arrested four Atlantic County residents yesterday on multiple drug charges in Barnegat, a spokesman for the prosecutor's office said.

Law enforcement authorities identified a gold 2000 Nissan Altima as the vehicle used to store and distribute quantities of heroin and cocaine in Southern Ocean County, Capt. Jack Sramaty said.

Detectives located the car at 6:30 p.m. on Aug. 9 near the Wawa store on West Bay Avenue in Barnegat. They maintained surveillance of the vehicle and conducted a motor vehicle stop. They found the four suspects and the drugs inside the car, he said.

All four were arrested and taken to the Barnegat Police Department. The Nissan was also seized pending forfeiture proceedings, Sramaty said.

Detectives from the Prosecutor’s Special Operations Group, Southern Enforcement Unit along with members of the Barnegat Police Narcotics Unit, the Lacey Township Detective Bureau and the Ocean Township Police Department participated in the short-term investigation into drug activity impacting the southern Ocean County area.

The following individuals were arrested and charged:

Tariq Johnson, 25, South Georgia Avenue, Atlantic City was arrested and charged with possession of cocaine, possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of heroin and possession of heroin with intent to distribute. Ocean County Superior Court Judge Steven Nemeth set his bail at $60,000 cash. He was taken to the Ocean County Jail in Toms River.

Lionel Dabney, 29, West Mulberry Street, Pleasantville,was charged with possession of cocaine, possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of heroin and possession of heroin with intent to distribute. His bail was also set at $60,000 cash.

Robert Gunter, 33, 6200 block of Delilah Road, Egg Harbor Township, was charged with possession of cocaine, possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of heroin and possession of heroin with intent to distribute. His bail was also set at $60,000 cash.

Rachel Brolewicz, 22, 6500 bock of Reega Ave., Egg Harbor Township, was charged with possession of cocaine, possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of heroin and possession of heroin with intent to distribute. Her bail was set at $35,000 cash.

All of the suspects were taken to the Ocean County Jail in Toms River.
