Intoxicated Driver Causes 3-Car Pileup In Manahawkin: Police
A woman was flown to the hospital after after her car was hit and it landed atop a parked vehicle, police said.

MANAHAWKIN, NJ — An intoxicated driver caused a three-vehicle accident that put a woman in the hospital, police said. The intoxicated driver hit a woman's car, which made the woman's Hyundai Sante Fe land on a parked vehicle at 5:44 p.m. Saturday, according to Stafford police.
Susan Laprete, the victim, was flown to the Atlantic City Trauma Center. She was treated and later released.
Riley Harris, 24, of Shamong, failed to stop at the stop sign and blinking red light while driving west on Stafford Avenue, police said. He was arrested for driving while intoxicated, police said.

Laprete, 58, of Stafford, drove north on Parker Street through the Stafford Avenue intersection when her car got hit. Harris struck Laprete's vehicle on the front-passenger side. While Laprete's car hit a parked vehicle at a Parker Street home, Harris's Chevy Silverado struck a tree at the same property.

Harris was treated on scene and refused medical attention. Police took him to the Southern Ocean Medical Center for a blood draw.

His toxicology results are pending. But police issued several traffic summonses, including careless driving, failure to stop and cell-phone use, authorities said.
The Stafford Township Fire Company and EMS and the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office also assisted on scene.
