Learn To Avoid Scammers At Stafford Library

Stafford police will teach residents about the most common scams and how to avoid them at this free library event.

MANAHAWKIN, NJ — There's no shortage of financial fraud in the country, and New Jersey is no different. Stafford police will be holding a free program at the Ocean County Library Stafford Branch to educate residents on the most frequent scams and how they can avoid them.

"Common Scams and How to Avoid Them" will be led by Officer Marisa Lawrence, Stafford Township Police Department's community outreach officer, on Sept. 8 at 10 a.m.

Lawrence will talk about scams most commonly aimed at NJ residents, along with ways to identify common "red flags," how to safeguard against victimization, and what to do if you or someone you know becomes a scam victim.
