Long Beach Township Cop Busted For Illegal Computer Use: OCPO
The sergeant accessed secure computer-based info for personal reasons, rather than law-enforcement reasons, the prosecutor said.

LONG BEACH TOWNSHIP, N.J. — A Long Beach Township police sergeant was charged Monday with accessing secure computer-based information for personal reasons, the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office announced.
Gerard Traynor was only supposed to access the information for law-enforcement purposes, the OCPO said. Chief Anthony Deely has suspended Traynor pending a conclusion into the criminal matter, according to the OCPO.
Traynor, 52, was charged with two counts of computer criminal activity, the OCPO said. He is also a practicing attorney, according to the OCPO.

The Long Beach Township Police Department and OCPO's Internal Affairs Unit and High Tech Crimes Unit conducted the investigation, according to county Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer. Traynor was released on a summons pending a future court date, the OCPO said.
The Facebook page for Law Offices of Gerard W. Traynor, LLC says their practice includes real estate, land use, DWI, municipal court and wills. The Facebook page has posted as recently as Sunday, regarding a new proposed hotel in Beach Haven.

Traynor's law offices have operated since 2001, according to the Facebook page.
