Atlantic County man arrested for maintaining the site

An Atlantic County man was arrested after authorities say they tied him to a marijuana grow site in Little Egg Harbor.

The exact location of the site wasn't identified, but Ocean County Prosecutor Marlene Lynch Ford said Thursday that it was located in a wooded area in the township.

Detectives from the Prosecutor’s Special Operations Group along with members of the Little Egg Harbor Police Department and the New Jersey State Police arrested Jon M. Peditt, 51, after he was "observed tending to more than seventeen marijuana plants in the wooded area," Ford said.

On Tuesday, members of those agencies as well as the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office then executed a search warrant at 6047 Black Horse Pike, Apartment 5, in Mays Landing, where they seized three pounds of marijuana.

Peditt, who lived in the apartment, was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana, possession of over five pounds of marijuana with intent to distribute and maintaining a drug production facility.
