LONG BEACH TWP, NJ — A North Brunswick man was sentenced to seven years in New Jersey State Prison for using a Long Beach Township home to store and deal drugs, the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office said.

Michael Klimowicz, 32, previously pleaded guilty to possession of marijuana in a quantity greater than five pounds but less than twenty-five pounds with intent to distribute, Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer said. Klimowicz was originally arrested on Jan. 27, 2019, Billhimer said.

A 2019 investigation by the Long Beach Township Police Department revealed that a home in the Holgate section of town was being used by Klimowicz to store and distribute narcotics, Billhimer said. A court-ordered search warrant was executed on Jan. 27 of that year, Billhimer said.

During the search, detectives seized about 11.5 pounds of marijuana, additional quantities of other illegal narcotics and about $9,300 in cash, Billhimer said.

Klimowicz was arrested without incident and taken to Ocean County Jail, where he was later released because of New Jersey Bail Reform, Billhimer said.
