Opiate & Heroin Forum at Ocean County Library, Toms River, on Thurs., May 4th. Resource Fair at 6 pm/ Forum starts at 6:30 pm

Parents/Guardians are encouraged to bring their teens ages 12 and over. Heroin use in Ocean County is epidemic. Become educated and aware

The Ocean County Library will be holding a Tools for Teens and Adults Opiate and Heroin Forum at 6:30 pm, Thursday, May 4, at the Toms River Branch, 101 Washington Street. Light refreshments and Resource Fair begin at 6:00 pm.
The forum will include a discussion of the heroin crisis among our teen and young adult community, the disease of addiction, aspects of recovery, the scope of the problem in Ocean County, local resources, and what the community can do to reduce and prevent substance abuse among our young generation.Join specialists from Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office, Toms River Police, Student Assistant Coordinators, Ocean County Health: Drug & Alcohol Department, Care Management Organization: Children’s System of Care, and Recovery Specialist from RWJ Barnabas Health Institute for Prevention. Moderated by Steve Willis, co-founder of Hope Sheds Light org.
Parents are encouraged to bring their teens, ages 12 and up.
Tools for Teens and Adults is a series of free programs funded through a community collaboration involving the Ocean County Board of Chosen Freeholders, Ocean County Youth Services Commission, Ocean County Health Department, New Jersey Superior Court Probation Juvenile Supervision, Municipal Alliance Project, NJ Governor’s Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse and the Ocean County Library in partnership.This program is free, but registration is suggested.
