• Pole Striping Returns To Historic Barnegat Barbershop (patch.com) — Barnegat residents can once again see the classic striped pole design restored on the porch posts of the historic George Hopper Barber Shop, now part of the Barnegat Historical Society's Heritage Village and Museum. The late-1800s building invites visitors to step back in time, explore local artifacts, and support preservation efforts through the society's nearby thrift shop and special events.
   

• Ocean County Adds Nearly 90 Acres To Preserved Land (jerseyshoreonline.com) — Ocean County just approved preserving nearly 90 more acres of open space in Eagleswood, Berkeley, and Plumsted, including land that connects to the Barnegat Branch Trail many locals use. The moves protect environmentally sensitive areas, expand nearby trail access, and rely on the county's Natural Lands Trust Fund, which voters may be asked to increase this November.
