PHOTOS: Flooding Hits LBI As Nor'easter Slams Barnegat, Manahawkin, Surf City Area

Flooding was reported in areas of Long Beach Island Saturday as police advised drivers to stay off the roadways.
In Surf City, Barnegat Avenue and areas on Central Avenue were experiencing flooding because of excessive rainfall. Driving through flood waters could cause damage or disable vehicles, police said.

“Please do not drive through flood water, as it may be deeper than it appears,” Surf City police said in a statement. “Long Beach Boulevard is passable and should be used for all traffic through town.”
Heavy flooding was also reported on Long Beach Boulevard, according to Harvey Cedars police.

“If you must drive today, please plan accordingly and allow for extra time to get to your destination. Use caution while driving and never drive through flood waters,” police said in a statement. ”Flood waters can be deeper than they appear. Ocean Boulevard can be used as an alternative. Remember: Turn Around, Don’t Drown!”
