Take The Ocean County Prosecutor's Office Gun Challenge - Would You Use Deadly Force?

The Ocean County Prosecutor's Office has issued a challenge:

You’re a police officer on patrol by yourself. It’s just after midnight when you receive a call of a suspicious individual in poorly lit area. You arrive, approach the individual and he pulls out a handgun looking like one of the eight handguns below.

Only one of the eight is real. Seven are pellet guns which present no real danger to you. Which one of the eight numbered handguns is the real weapon? Which would move you to resort to deadly force?

Surely, you should be able to detect a pellet gun from a real functioning handgun. It’s part of the job. This predicament presents itself to officers at least once in their careers. Choose wisely – Your life depends on it!

The Prosecutor's Office will tally the choices and reveal the correct answer on Monday, as well as how many people gave the correct answer.

"A police officer has milliseconds to decide. How long did it take you?" the prosecutor's office said in the challenge.
