Should School Board Members Be Subjected to Criminal Background Checks?
What do you think of Christie-supported legislation?

Earlier this month Gov. Chris Christie signed legislation that would require New Jersey . The new rules would disqualify anyone convicted of certain crimes from serving on a board of education or charter school school board.
The law would disqualify anyone convicted of crimes ranging from reckless endangerment and drug possession to burglary and murder from serving on a board of education.
What do you think? Is the measure a necessary safeguard, or out of bounds?
