Southern Ocean Lottery Win Turns Into $10K Food Bank Donation
ShopRite of Waretown sold a $12.3 million Pick‑6 winning ticket. The store used its commission for good.

WARETOWN, NJ — The ShopRite of Waretown used their lottery commission for good by donating it to a local food bank.
When a store sells a prizewinning NJ Lottery ticket, the store itself also earns a commission.
So when a $12.3 million Pick‑6 winning ticket was sold, the ShopRite of Waretown paid their luck forward with a $10,000 donation to Fulfill Food Bank, which supports people in need in Monmouth and Ocean counties.

In 2024, the ShopRite of Neptune, also owned by the Saker family and Saker ShopRites, sold a record‑setting $1.13 billion Mega Millions ticket, the largest jackpot in New Jersey history. Saker ShopRites also donated that store’s $30,000 lottery bonus to Fulfill.
"The money represents the store’s lottery bonus commission, and representatives from Fulfill and the New Jersey Lottery stopped by the Waretown store recently to celebrate the win and the goodwill," Saker ShopRite shared in a statement.
