Southern Regional Schools Rank No. 3 In Ocean County

MANAHAWKIN, NJ — The Southern Regional School District ranks third in Ocean County and 97th in New Jersey, according to data compiler Niche. Niche released its rankings for the 2019-2020 school year on Monday as part of the website's 2020 K-12 rankings.

Each New Jersey district received a letter grade in the following categories: Academics; Diversity; Teachers; College Prep; Clubs & Activities; Health & Safety; Administration; Sports; Food; and Resources & Facilities.

Southern Regional received an A- overall. The Stafford Township School District earned a B+, while the Barnegat Township School District was graded C+.

Here were the school report cards, according to Niche:

To arrive at the rankings, Niche looked at data from the U.S. Department of Education as well as test scores, college data, and ratings collected from Niche users. (You can read more about the methodology here.)
