There are two separate budgets for the township and water/sewer.
Much of the municipal budget goes towards public health and safety, von der Hayden said. A large chunk goes to employee insurance and benefits, he said, but most goes towards how the township functions and operates.
Stafford is also trying to improve its bond rating, von der Hayden said.
The tax rate is up from last year's budget, with a 91.9 cents tax rate. The average home in Stafford is valued at $288,400. So the average homeowner will see an extra $51.91 in their bill.
