Stafford Police Adjust Protocols During NJ Coronavirus Spread

Stafford police are making precautions during New Jersey's coronavirus outbreak. Here's what to know.

MANAHAWKIN, NJ — The Stafford Township Police Department adjusted some protocols during the outbreak fo the novel coronavirus.

Police will, of course, continue to serve. But the agency made some adjustments, which began Tuesday.

Stafford police will take some reports over the phone. Some officers will work at headquarters to take these calls. There are several types of calls that won't require police to travel to homes. These may include calls that don't require on-scene investigation or evidence collection.

When an officer responds in-person, he or she will keep a safe, social distance of 6 feet between others.

The agency will always respond to accidents, violent crimes, crimes against a person and any other call they deem necessary.

Call 609-597-8581 for non-emergent needs or 911 in an emergency.
