Extreme Gymnastics Add More State Champions

The Gymdawgs of Extreme Gymnastics finished up their Level 5-6 seasons winning 6 Individual State Championships at the annual Jersey Optional Gymnastics Association State Finals this year.

Extreme also extended their streak of having a TOP 7 Team in the State for 8 consecutive years now as both teams helped continue that run with the Level 6 girls Placing 4th and the Level 5s finishing 7th overall in the team standings.

In addition to their individual and team awards, all told over the 2-day event the “Dawgs” combined for 38 TOP-10 Medals, 11 Personal Bests, and 4 Stuck Beams.

High scorer for the first year competing Level 6 gymnasts was Jordyn Hamlin from Little Egg Harbor who captured the All-Around State Championship totaling a 30.575 score. Jordyn was also 1st on Vault, Floor, and on Balance Beam where her “stuck” routine was the 5th straight meet where she hit on that event.

Manahawkin’s Kailey Triant had 2 Personal Bests in her season finale with career high scores in her All-Around and on Floor, where her efforts in that exercise awarded her the State Championship there. Kailey also added a 2nd Place medal on Vault.

Masin Maugeri also of Manahawkin was Extreme’s other State Champion as she finished up winning her 1st Place medal on Vault, while just missing out on another championship by Placing 2nd in her All-Around.

Extreme’s youngest competitor, 8-year old Ava Blase of Little Egg Harbor “stuck” her Beam and was awarded the 2nd Place medal for her efforts there while she also had a 3rd medal on Floor exercise.

Forked River’s Ny’Anna Jackson paced the Level 5 team with a team high 31.225 All-Around. Her total score was one of 3 Personal Bests on the day for Ny, who also had Career Bests on Floor and on Uneven Bars.

Placing 4th Overall and also topping a 31+ score in her All-Around was Little Egg’s Mya Pollak, who Placed 3rd on Floor as one of her highlights and “stuck” Beam for the 4th consecutive meet.

All 11 of the Gymdawgs qualified to move up to their respective next Levels for the upcoming 2016-17 seasons, while Masin’s, Kailey’s and Jordyn’s 1st Place awards give head coach Kim Lisowski and her staff of Extreme Gymnastics the honor of now having coached 93 Individual State Champions.
