Two Women, Baby Died In Head-On Crash In Little Egg Harbor

Two others in critical condition, Prosecutor's Office spokesman says.

LITTLE EGG HARBOR - Two women and a six-month-old baby were killed and two others critically injured in a head-on crash on Route 539 on Saturday night, according to app.com.

Shannon Tomkins, 27, Tuckerton died at the scene. Her baby girl was taken to Southern Ocean Medical Center in Manahawkin, where she later died.

Tomkins' Mercury Cougar and a Honda CRV collided head-on at 8:53 p.m., just west of North Shore Drive, said Al Della Fave, spokesman for the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office.

The driver of the Honda — Nora Magnani, 67, of Langhorne, Pennsylvania — also died at the scene, he said.

Tomkins was traveling eastbound with her two children when her car failed to maintain its lane and crossed over the center line into the westbound lane, colliding with the Honda, Della Fave said.

Tomkins' five-year-old son was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was listed in critical but stable condition, Della Fave said.

Magnani's passenger — Andrea Pallanollo, 65, of Langhorne — was hospitalized and listed in critical but stable condition, he said.
