A Waretown man was charged Tuesday with possessing and distributing child porn, the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office announced. Michael D'Elia, 40, had over 1,000 images of child pornography on devices in his home, the OCPO said.

OCPO detectives had identified a Waretown address distributing child pornography over the internet after a four-month investigation, the prosecutor's office said. Authorities executed a search warrant in D'Elia's home Tuesday morning, according to the OCPO.

Additional charges are pending a complete forensic investigation of items seized, the OCPO said. Officials processed D'Elia at the Ocean Township Police Department and took him to Ocean County Jail, where he will stay pending a detention hearing, the OCPO said.
