Woman Bitten By Rabid Raccoon In Beach Haven West: Officials
Stafford animal control is urging residents to keep their eyes out for ill wildlife in the area.
BEACH HAVEN WEST, NJ — Stafford Township's Animal Control Department is urging residents to alert them of any ill wildlife after a woman was bitten by a rabid raccoon in the Beach Haven West section of town.
Animal control officials received a call at about 2:30 p.m. on April 8 from a woman who was bitten by a raccoon in the area of Walter Boulevard.
The raccoon was captured and sent for testing, and came back positive for rabies, officials said.

Residents in the area are asked to contact animal control if they see any ill wildlife or wild animals out in the daytime.
If you or your pets are ever exposed to a wild animal, seek medical or veterinary attention immediately and notify the Township's Animal Control Department.
