2nd Home Burglary Reported In 5 Days In Basking Ridge

Bernards Township Police are investigating a home burglary to an unoccupied home on Beacon Crest Drive during the weekend.

BASKING RIDGE, NJ — Bernards Township Police are investigating a home burglary to an unoccupied home on Beacon Crest Drive that occurred this weekend. This is the second home burglary in the past five days.

The burglary occurred sometime between Saturday at 6:45 a.m. and Sunday at 5:30 p.m., according to police.

Anyone who observed any suspicious activity during this time frame is asked to contact Detective John Neiman at 908-204-3050.

A previous burglary was reported on Tuesday, Oct. 9 to an unoccupied home on Whitenack Road between 8 a.m. and 4:45 p.m., according to police. (See related: Police Investigating Burglary at Basking Ridge Home)

  • Lock your home at all times. Thieves will often target unlocked homes.
  • Put lights and televisions on timers or delay switch when not home.
  • Keep records/photos of valuable possessions. Retain make, model and serial numbers of valuable electronics.
  • Do not leave trash containers, newspapers or mail uncollected.
  • If possible leave a vehicle or vehicles in the driveway.
