Why are you seeking to run for Township Committee?

As a relative newcomer to Bernards Township, I want to bring a fresh perspective to the needs of our town. Moving here from a different area of New Jersey, I have experienced what other towns like ours have done to bring their communities together in ways that encourage shopping, dining and attending family-oriented events. I am dedicated to working on new efforts that continue to make our town a lively, vibrant community, attractive to residents, visitors, restaurants and other businesses.

What issues do you feel need to be tackled in town?

Below are a few of my main issues I'd like to tackle and you can find more if needed on my website.

  1. Bring back the second public comment at all Township Committee meetings. The opportunity for residents to voice concerns both in person and remotely by email should be restored.
  2. Launch a farmers market in town during the summer months. I will work with the NJ Secretary of Agriculture, creating a no-cost event for the town and a big win for residents who want more local events. Programs like this increase foot traffic, which helps local businesses and encourages community engagement.
  3. Expedite the repair of potholes and other winter damage on roads and sidewalks.

What sets you apart from the challenging candidates?

I think the current Township Committee members g want what's best for Bernards Township, but as a newcomer, I think I have the advantage of being connected to other incoming residents and families in town. I believe that this provides me with insights as to the evolving needs and concerns of our community.

What else would you like to share about yourself or your campaign?

I am proud to be a resident of Township and honored to have the opportunity to run for this important position. I hope to be elected and look forward to working with each and every member of the Township Committee to keep Bernards Township the community we all love and are proud to call home.
