Major Abraham Wolf, a former Union Army major, was Sea Girt Lighthouse's first keeper, posted in 1896. With a military bearing and a striking impression in his sharp uniform, coupled with a no-nonsense approach toward his duties, he served as one of the finest in the Lighthouse service. Wolf worked seven years at Sea Girt Lighthouse and by the end of his tenure was in his early 70s, making him the oldest keeper on active duty. Sea Girt Lighthouse is the last live-in lighthouse built on the Atlantic coast. Learn about his duties and experience coming from the civil war into the Lighthouse Service and join in an interesting discussion about a little-known part of our coastal navigation history from a time before computers and satellites. A Traveling Literary production. 
Presenter: Gunnery Sergeant Kenneth J. Serfass was a civil war reenactor but now is a first-person impressionist with nearly fifty years of study of his childhood hero, Ulysses S. Grant. A U.S. Marine since 1984, his final tour was with the First Marine Division Band during Operation Iraqi Freedom, retiring from the Marine Corps in July of 2004 to become a music teacher. Ken began appearing as General Grant in 2009 while living in San Diego, and his work has inspired two books he is writing. The American War of Independence is about 13 remote British colonies coming together to fight the most powerful nation on earth. This presentation provides a brief overview of the key events for those less familiar with this war, and challenges those that are to redefine the role Central New Jersey played in establishing this independence. It also challenges historians to shift the traditional telling of a tribal narrative of heroes and villains to a more inclusive one that focuses on why and how things happened rather than who did them and when; and it will include the British perspective too. Q &amp; A with Director of the 40 minute video following the screening.

We are very excited to announce that the 8th annual Juniors Fore Goryeb youth charity golf event is back! It will be held on May 12,, 2026 at Roxiticus Golf Club in Mendham, NJ. Registration is at 3:30PM, shotgun start is at 4:00PM.
It is the annual fundraiser for Kids4Kids, the youth charity group of the Foundation for Morristown Medical Center.&nbsp; The group encourages children and teens to get involved with charity, volunteering, and fundraising through hands-on projects and group activities that benefit Atlantic Health Goryeb Children’s Hospital.
The event is a nine-hole scramble format (shotgun start) for junior golfers ages 10 through college-age with prizes, on-course games, and a box dinner to follow.&nbsp; Parents may participate with their kids, as well. &nbsp; And you can create your own twosome or foursome or be added to a group.&nbsp; Registration is $125 per player (group discounts are available).
Juniors Fore Goryeb is unique in that it is the only junior golf event in the area organized and run by kids (teens and young adults) for other kids.&nbsp; Funds from this year’s event will go towards Child Life Supplies for Child Life Specialists who focus on keeping young patients calm and distracted during their hospital stay and to support parents/caregivers of children cared for at Atlantic Health Goryeb Children’s Hospital in dire financial need (i.e. for transportation, medication, food, and financial assistance).&nbsp;
