Coping With Traumatic Loss Presentation For Basking Ridge Parents Now Available

The presentation shows parents how to cope with traumatic loss and raise healthy kid in light of most recent deaths in Bernards Twp schools.

BASKING RIDGE, NJ — In case you missed it, the presentation given by a Statewide Resource Coordinator for the Traumatic Loss Coalitions for Youth for Basking Ridge parents is now available online.

The event was triggered by the recent student deaths in Bernards Township schools and held on March 9 at Ridge High School Performing Arts Center where George Scott Ed. S., M.F.T spoke to parents about coping with traumatic loss and raising healthy kids.

Both the middle and high schools in Bernards Township School District has experienced the deaths of students. Most recently, Gage Dobson, an eighth grader at William Annin Middle School, died on Feb. 28. Kyra O’Dwyer, a 10th-grade student at Ridge High School died on Dec. 9, 2016 and Ridge High School Junior Martha Moye died March 29, 2016.

One of the Bernards Township School District's goals for this year is to focus on social/emotional issues, Superintendent Nick Markarian said.
