Meet The Candidates Running For Bernards Township School Board

The format will consist of opening and closing statements from each candidate and about 60 minutes of questions from the audience.

BASKING RIDGE, NJ — Residents will have the chance to meet the nine candidates running for the Bernards Township Board of Education on Wednesday, Oct. 12.

The League of Women Voters together with members of the Ridge High School Empowerment
for Political Participation (REPP) are hosting the candidate forum from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center at Ridge High School in Basking Ridge.

The public is encouraged to attend and participate.

Vying for three open 3-year seats

Vying for one unexpired one-year term

League member Ann Armstrong, who is not a resident of Bernards Township, will be the moderator.

The format for each forum will consist of opening and closing statements from each candidate and about 60 minutes of questions from the audience.

Each candidate will have the opportunity to answer the questions and the opportunity for a rebuttal. No remarks of personal or abusive nature will be permitted.

The event will be videotaped and posted online to allow residents who are unable to attend to
view the event. It will be available on the REPP website (https://sites.google.com/view/repp/)

and the League of Women Voters’ Website (www.lwvnj.org).

All questions submitted during the event will be collected, screened to avoid duplication, and vetted to ensure they relate to the office being sought and do not contain personal attacks. The LWV moderator will read the questions to the candidates and the audience.

The League encourages all registered voters to vote in the general election on Tuesday,

Nov. 8. The last day to register to vote is Tuesday, Oct. 18. The deadline to apply for a mail-in ballot by mail is Nov. 1. Early voting starts as early as Oct. 29 and lasts until Nov. 6.

REPP is a student-run, non-partisan organization at Ridge High School that has the support of
