Safety Improvements To Be Proposed For Basking Ridge Intersection
A presentation on proposals to improve safety at the Minebrook Road and Canterbury Way intersection will be shown on Tuesday night.

BASKING RIDGE, NJ — A presentation on proposals to improve the Minebrook Road and Somerville Road Extension/Canterbury Way intersection will be shown during the Tuesday night committee meeting.
Bernards Township Engineering and Police Department had been monitoring and reviewing the intersection to make safety improvements. (See Related: Officials Look To Improve Mine Brook, Canterbury Intersection)
Safety Improvements Proposed include:

- oImproved signage and addition of beacons
- Radius change on corners
- Shortened and relocated crosswalks
- Addition of curbed or imprinted traffic islands
- Narrowed lanes
- Bike path along Mine Brook Rd to Old Coach Rd
- Speed limit reductions
- Street lights
The township currently has a partnership with Far Hills to improve Mine Brook Road. The Shared Service Agreement was voted on in September as Mine Brook Road is a a shared roadway, with the center line being the municipal boundary between both Bernards and Far Hills. The Bernards Township Committee meeting will be held on Feb. 12 at 8 p.m. at the Bernards Township Municipal Building, Warren Craft Meeting Room, 1 Collyer Lane, Basking Ridge.
