SUV Does 'Doughnuts', Tears Up Pleasant Valley Park
Bernards Township Police also reported making arrests on charges of marijuana possession and driving under the influence recently.
BASKING RIDGE, NJ — Someone damaged the athletic fields at Pleasant Valley Park recently when they did "doughnuts" in the grass, police said.
On Aug. 19, both the baseball field and the Tobin Heath soccer field had deep tire impressions in a circular formation or "doughnut" causing extensive damage, Bernards Township Police said.
The damage is believed to have been caused by a Jeep or some other large SUV type vehicle, police said.

It is unknown when the cost of the damage is as of this time.
Police are going over video footage to try and find those responsible. Any one with information is asked to contact the police at 908-766-1122.

On Aug. 20 at around 12:10 a.m.: Christoph Brower, 42, of Newark was arrested for possession of marijuana under 50 grams and possession of suspected ecstasy. Officer Zolnierowski saw a 2006 silver Jeep with a NJ license plate driving on Route 78 east. The vehicle caught his attention because of a moving violation and had an equipment violation. Zolnierowski stopped the motor vehicle on Route 78 and spoke to the driver, Brower. During the stop, Zolnierowski smelled the odor of raw marijuana. Brower then voluntarily admitted to smoking marijuana earlier in the day and handed over two small bags of marijuana to the officer. A search of the vehicle found two pills suspected to be the street drug referred to as ecstasy. Bower was processed and released.
On Aug. 20 at around 11:41 p.m.: Carlos Pichardo, 26, of Orwigsburg was arrested for possession of marijuana under 50 grams and possession of drug paraphernalia. Officer Polizzi saw a 2007 grey Nissan Altima with a New York license plate driving at about 91 mph in a 65-mph zone on I-287 North. During the stop, Polizzi smelled the odor of both burnt and raw marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. Pichardo admitted that he had marijuana in his possession and turned it over to
the officer. Pichardo was also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and released.
On Aug. 23: A Hardscrabble Road resident reported a theft. The victim ordered a fuji-film camera from Amazon and when the perfectly sealed and undamaged box arrived, the camera was missing. All other contents such as the manual and accessories were accounted for. It is unknown if the camera was taken or there was a packaging problem with the vendor. The approximate cost of the camera was $976.
On Aug. 26 at about 9:57 p.m.: Javier Santillan, 55, of Summit was arrested for driving under the influence. Officers received a report of a 2015 red Ford F-150 pick up driving erratically in the area of South Finley Ave. Officer Polizzi observed a vehicle matching the description parked in the middle of the road on South Alward Avenue. Polizzi smelled a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from the driver, Santillan’s breath. Field sobriety tests were performed, and Santillan was placed under arrest processed and released in accordance to the law.
