Delayed Opening For Belleville, Nutley Schools Due To Weather Forecast

There will be a delayed opening for Belleville and Nutley schools on Tuesday. Here are the details.

BELLEVILLE-NUTLEY, NJ — There will be a delayed opening for the Belleville and Nutley public school districts on Tuesday, Feb. 28 due to the weather forecast.

A low-pressure system moving into the region late Monday could bring five to eight inches of snow, as well as ice, in some parts of the Garden State, according to AccuWeather.

A winter weather advisory has been issued for western Essex County from Monday at 6 p.m. through Tuesday at 1 p.m.

Belleville school administrators shared the following message about Tuesday’s delayed opening:

“Due to dangerous weather conditions, there will be a delayed opening tomorrow, Tuesday, Feb. 28. Please follow the appropriate delayed opening schedule for your school.”

Here’s what Nutley school officials had to say about the delayed opening:

“Due to the weather forecast for tonight until tomorrow morning, the Nutley Public School District will operate on a delayed opening schedule for Tuesday, Feb. 28. We will closely monitor the forecast and storm overnight and, if needed, you will be notified regarding any necessary closures.”
