Nutley Car Thefts Continue: Belleville Border Sees Multiple Incidents, Police Say
Several thefts from vehicles have taken place near the Belleville border, including Carmer and King Street, Nutley police say.

Nutley, NJ – The car thefts continue in Nutley.
Two weeks after a thief struck 12 vehicles in one night in the township, Nutley police reported that thefts continue to take place near the Belleville border.

On March 23, officers responded to Wesley Place to take a report of stolen items involving a vehicle that had been illegally entered during the evening hours.

The same day, the Newark Police Department contacted their Nutley counterparts and stated that they recovered a vehicle that was presumably stolen from Wesley Place.
When officers contacted the registered owner, she told police that she was unaware the car had been stolen.

“Police are trying to determine if the two jobs are related, as well as several other thefts from vehicles that occurred just over the town line in Belleville including Carmer and King Street,” Nutley Detective Anthony Montanari stated in a release.
