Samsung Galaxy Camera 2 Announced! Original China Mobile Phone This year’s much-anticipated CES is just around the corner, but that hasn’t stopped manufacturers from announcing their upcoming products ahead of the event. Just now, Samsung announced via their official press page the successor to their Android-powered camera, the aptly named Samsung Galaxy Camera. Its successor, the uninspiringly-named Samsung Galaxy Camera 2, has specs that seem to be similar to its predecessor in some ways, but you do see where the improvements lie. Samsung Galaxy Camera 2 Specs 16.3 effective megapixel 1/2.3″ BSI CMOS with OIS 21x Optical Zoom Lens, 23 mm Wide Angle, F2.8(W) ~ 5.9(T) 4.8″ (121.2mm), HD Super Clear Touch LCD Screen ISO 100-3200 1.6 GHz Quad-Core 2.0 GB of RAM, 8GB ROM, expandable via microSD up to 64GB 802.11a/b/g/n Wi-Fi, GPS/GLONASS, Bluetooth 4.0 and NFC JPEG format, Full HD videos (AVI, MP4/3GP, WMV, FLV, MKV, WEBM) Built-in Pop-up Xenon Flash Android 4.3 Jelly Bean with TouchWiz 2000mAh battery 132.5 x 71.2 x 19.3 mm, 283g HuaWei Cell Phone Other than that, it comes with Samsung’s own photo and video apps and features, such as 28 Smart Modes (one of which is the new Selfie Alarm, which I think would be used often) and a Multi Motion Video feature that would enable you to set the speed at which the video can be recorded. The higher battery capacity is a Godsend, since stamina is one of the caveats of its predecessor. Samsung didn’t state what kind of processor it’s using but I’m willing to bet it’s an Exynos. JIAYU Cell Phone Other than that, Samsung opted to be tight lipped about everything else. They need something to reserve for the upcoming CES. In fact, the press release stated as such. So, things like pricing and availability may be revealed there. so for now, all we can do is to stay tuned. New Samsung GT-I8200 to be a Galaxy S III Mini Value Edition? Samsung’s Galaxy S III Mini was originally released in November 2012 as a cheaper, less advanced alternative to that year’s S III flagship. It’s still a popular smartphone around the world, and at the moment it can be bought for around $230 unlocked. Lenovo Cell Phone At $230, the S III Mini is already a pretty great value-for-money handset, so we were baffled to learn that a new “Value Edition” of it may be introduced soon. According to SamMobile, the Galaxy S III Mini Value Edition has the model number GT-I8200 - that’s a slight upgrade from the model number of the original S III Mini (GT-I8190). Unfortunately, there are no images to show the S III Mini Value Edition, and neither details on its features. We checked the FCC and the Bluetooth SIG, finding that the GT-I8200 was approved by both certification bodies last month (December 2013), so it appears to be a brand new device. Quad Core Cell Phone There are two variations of the handset listed at the Bluetooth SIG: a GT-I8200N, which is seemingly made for Europe, and a GT-I8200L for South America. The FCC tested only the GT-I8200N, revealing that it comes with dual-band Wi-Fi and 3G (1900 MHz). The sketch of the GT-I8200N seen at the FCC suggests that this new S III Mini looks a lot like the old one, possibly exactly the same. Its specs (display, processor, etc.) could also be similar. We can only guess that the Galaxy S III Mini Value Edition will be cheaper than the model that’s currently available. But why exactly would Samsung bother to launch it? We don’t know, but perhaps the company will shed some light on this soon. THL Cell Phone It's said that Samsung plans to introduce a Galaxy Grand Lite and a Galaxy Note 3 Lite next month, so maybe the S III Mini VE will be unveiled then as well.
