2 Dogs Killed In Berkeley House Fire: Police
While residents were evacuated from the Cranmer Road home, two dogs remained inside, Berkeley Township police said.

BERKELEY, NJ — Two dogs were killed in Thursday's house fire on Cranmer Road, Berkeley Township police said.
The two-story home was damaged in the fire but no residents were injured, which was reported at 8:24 p.m. on Dec. 14, the Bayville Volunteer Fire Company 1 previously said. Read more: Fire Damages 2-Story Home In Berkeley
However, the evacuated residents told responding officers that two dogs were still inside the house, Berkeley police said in a news release. See drone photos from the fire here.

Police tried to get inside to the dogs, but at that time, "several explosions" began occurring inside and the home became fully engulfed, officers said.
The dogs were later found deceased inside the house, police said.

At this time, no foul play is suspected, police said. The fire is believed to have been accidental. It is currently under investigation by Det. William Somers, Berkeley Township Fire Official Fred Mitchell and the Ocean County Fire Marshal's Office.
Multiple fire departments responded and assisted in extinguishing the blaze, including the Bayville Fire Department, the Pinewald-Pioneer Fire Department, Manitou Park Fire Department, and the Forked River Fire Department.
Berkeley Township EMS and Bayville First Aid also responded.
