24-Home Development To Go Before Berkeley Planning Board

BERKELEY, NJ — A public hearing for a proposed 24-home development is set for the Nov. 16 Berkeley Township Planning Board meeting, after being delayed since this past spring.
The neighborhood proposed for Station Road had its original hearing postponed after the project's attorney spoke with concerned residents and neighbors, saying that the developers wanted to take those concerns to heart. Read more: 24-Home Development Hearing Further Delayed In Berkeley
However, the new notice for the plan doesn't seem to have any significant changes from the original iteration.

The proposal is for 99 Station Road, a nearly 12-acre vacant lot of primarily trees that is surrounded by existing houses. The plan is to build 24 single-family homes and three homeowners' association lots.
Developers are asking for several variances regarding lot frontage. For separate lots, where 100 feet of frontage is required, they ask to instead provide 79.89 feet, 88.05 feet, 79.82 feet, 73.94 feet and 10 feet.

They also are seeking design waivers for an environmental assessment and environmental impact statement.
All of that was in the original proposal back in April.
Residents will able to share their thoughts on the proposal at the Nov. 16 meeting, held at 6 p.m. in the Municipal Building (627 Pinewald Keswick Road).
