24-Home Development Hearing Further Delayed In Berkeley
The Station Road project's attorney shared a letter with the Planning Board explaining why he wanted the hearing delayed until November.

BERKELEY, NJ — Those looking for answers about the proposed 24-home development off Station Road will have to wait another six months. The Berkeley Township Planning Board announced that the public hearing is pushed until the November 16 meeting.
Why such a long wait? At the April Planning Board meeting, even though the hearing was unable to go on, the project's attorney Ryan Murphy was present to speak with neighbors and hear their concerns.
After this, the applicant asked for the hearing to be carried.

"The purpose of this request is to take to heart the neighbor's comments and concerns," Murphy told the Planning Board in a letter.
Developers will update plans "where appropriate" and seek necessary additional approvals, the letter said. This could involve significant changes, the Planning Board said.

Since Murphy believes this "will take some time," developers do not want to rush and therefore the hearing will be pushed.
The hearing will be noticed again in newspapers but neighbors will not receive another notice in the mail, so those who wish to speak at the November meeting should mark their calendars.
The current proposal is for 99 Station Road, a nearly 12 acre empty lot of land surrounded by existing houses, according to public records. The lot currently is primarily trees.
The proposal includes 24 residential lots and three homeowners association (HOA) lots.
