BERKELEY, NJ — Those hoping to voice their concerns and opinions about a proposed development in Bayville will have to wait longer to do so.

A public hearing for the 24-home neighborhood off Station Road was set for the April 20 Berkeley Township Planning Board meeting, but will now be heard at the May 18 meeting.

The reason for the delay is that the applicant submitted their notices a day late and the Board therefore lacked jurisdiction to hear it, the Board explained at the meeting.

However, attendees were still able to voice some of their concerns directly to the attorney representing the applicant, Ryan Murphy, who came to the meeting to speak with them.

The current proposal is for 99 Station Road, a nearly 12 acre empty lot of land surrounded by existing houses, according to public records. The lot currently is primarily trees.

The proposal includes 24 residential lots and three homeowners association (HOA) lots.

The Planning Board meets next on May 18 at 6 p.m. at Town Hall (627 Pinewald Keswick Road).

This meeting will also have a hearing on an amendment to Berkeley's Recreation and Open Space Inventory to reflect recent additions to the inventory. Read more: 74 Acres Of Bayville Land To Be Permanently Preserved
