9/11 Ceremony Berkeley Township Starts at 10 A.M. on Sunday Morning

Nearby Ocean Gate will dedicate new 9-11 Memorial Park, starting at 8 a.m..

If you want to pay your respects on Sept. 11, you don't have to travel all the way to Lower Manhattan.

Berkeley Township will hold its own 9/11 ceremony at 10 a.m. at the 9/11 Memorial in Veterans Park in Bayville, Mayor Carmen F. Amato Jr. said.

Boy Scout Troop 76 and Scout Troop 83, along with Cub Pack 27 will conduct the ceremony.

In nearby Ocean Gate, borough officials and local veterans groups will dedicate the borough's new Memorial Park between West Atlantic Avenue and West Lakewood Avenue. The ceremony will start at 8 a.m. and run until 10:15 a.m, Mayor Paul J. Kennedy said.

There will be speakers, bag pipers, members of the military, veterans and many local Ocean Gate clubs and organizations.

"The park has been put together by many volunteers in and around Ocean Gate," Kennedy said. "It's been a work in progress and has finally come to fruition."
