Authorities Have License Plate Number For Van Suspected In Arson Investigation

Ocean County Prosecutor's Office wants anyone with information about shed fire to contact investigators.

The Ocean County Prosecutor's Office has released the license plate numbers of 2000 white Chevrolet van connected to an arson investigation of a shed fire in Beachwood.

The license plate is M73 AYH, spokesman Al Della Fave said.

The Prosecutor’s Office Arson Investigations Unit and Beachwood police responded to the fire at 5:20 a.m. on Thursday behind 417 Atlantic City Boulevard. It was quickly extinguished by the Beachwood Fire Department, he said.

A witness reported observing a male leaving the scene with a gas can and fleeing the area in a white van. The van was last seen heading south on Capstan Avenue.

Anyone with information is asked to call OCPO Arson Investigation Unit at 732 929-2027 Ext. 4760 or the Beachwood Police Department at 732 286-6000 Ext. 100. Caller’s info and identity with be kept strictly confidential. Do not approach, call 911, observe and report, Della Fave said.
