New Date Set For 2018 Berkeley Christmas Tree Lighting

There's a new date for the celebration, which includes Christmas carols, hot chocolate and Santa. Don't miss it.

BERKELEY, NJ — Due to a forecast of rain for Saturday, Berkeley Township officials have moved the town's annual Christmas tree lighting celebration to Friday, Dec. 7.

The recreation department announced the date change as forecasts for Saturday, Dec. 1, showed heavy rain possible anytime after 4 p.m.

The celebration on Friday, Dec. 7, will begin at 5 p.m. at Veterans Park.

It will include the Central Regional High School chorus singing Christmas carols, hot chocolate and cookies, and of course, a visit by Santa Claus.

Veterans Park is on Forest Hills Parkway, just east of Central Regional High School.
