Berkeley Man Arrested, 140 Folds Of Heroin Seized In Manchester: Police
Breaking: The man faces multiple drug charges, police said.

MANCHESTER, NJ — A Berkeley Township man is facing drug charges after police found 140 wax folds of heroin in his possession during a motor vehicle stop in Manchester, police said.
Kenneth R. Cooper, 39, of Pheasant Drive in Bayville, was arrested and charged on Friday, Manchester Police Capt. Todd Malland said.
Members of the police department’s Narcotics Enforcement Team were conducting surveillance in the Summit Park section of the township when they observed a 1997 Honda Accord and Cooper, its driver, engaging in suspicious activity, Malland said. He did not detail the nature of the suspicious activity.

Cooper was watched as he left the area and was stopped on Route 37 near the Toms River border for a motor vehicle violation, Malland said. During the course of the stop, Cooper was found to have in his possession 140 wax folds of heroin, which was seized, and Cooper was arrested, he said.
Cooper was charged with possession of heroin, possession with intent to distribute heroin, loitering to obtain a controlled dangerous substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia, Malland said. He was released on criminal summonses pending a court appearance, he said.

The Manchester Township Police Department’s Patrol Bureau and Toms River Township Police K9 Officer Rich Buhowski and his partner Gunnar, Malland said.
