Township officials are not the only ones hoping to see Billhimer, a Democrat, serve another term. The Ocean County Commissioners also unanimously supported his reappointment in a resolution passed in July.
Berkeley's resolution notes Billhimer's many accomplishments since his appointment in 2018. His youth outreach, time spent fighting the opioid epidemic and mandating of implicit bias training for all law enforcement officers across the county are a few achievements officials named.
