Berkeley's 'Night Out Against Crime' Cancelled Due To Weather

BERKELEY, NJ — Berkeley Township's "Night Out Against Crime" was canceled because of inclement weather, according to Berkeley police. The National Night Out event was scheduled for Wednesday evening at Veterans Park.

The National Weather Service anticipates scattered showers and possible thunderstorms after 5 p.m.

Berkeley Township faced some bad luck with scheduled Night Out Against Crime. The event was originally set for Aug. 7. It was postponed to Aug. 28 because of weather.

At the annual event, Berkeley police, firefighters and emergency services meet with residents and display their equipment and vehicles. National Night Out helps police departments around the nation build camaraderie with their communities and make them safer, more caring places to live and work.
