Central Regional Food Services Staff Donates $ to Berkeley Police

Central Regional Food Services Staff Makes Donation to Berkeley Township Police Department

During years’ past, the Central Regional Food Services Staff participated in “Wear Your Jeans to Work Fridays”, to raise funds to support graduating students that wished to attend culinary school. Any staff member who chose to wear jeans on Friday would donate $1.00. This year the staff was looking for additional meaningful causes to donate their raised funds.

In January and February, the Berkeley Township Police PBA Local 237 ran their “No Shave January & February” fundraiser to help support a fellow State Correctional Police Officer, Joseph Graf, who was recently diagnosed with a brain tumor. The police officers were permitted to grow their beards while making a $50.00 donation each month towards Officer Graf’s medical expenses.

The Central staff found their new cause. Since the beginning of this school year, the food service staff loyally wore their jeans every Friday and made their $1.00 donations. The food services manager, Bruce Scarpulla, took it a step further by participating in the “No Shave January & February” by growing his beard and making the $50.00 donation each month to the Berkeley Police.
