Coastal Ocean Beach Report For July 10, 2016

Nice beach day ahead.

The National Weather Service is calling for mostly sunny skies with highs in the mid-80s.

Beach winds will be from the northwest at 10 to 15 miles per hour. The surf will be around three feet, with southeast swells around two feet. The water temperature is 74 degrees.

There's a low risk of rip currents, but strong currents can occur near piers and jetties. Rip currents are also possible in other areas, especially during low tide. Swim only in guarded areas and discuss possible surf zone hazards with them.

There is no lightning threat today. Bring the sunscreen. The UV index is a 9, which is very high. Low tide was at 7:09 a.m. High tide will arrive at 1:15 p.m., followed by another low tide at 7:23 p.m.
