
The National Weather Service has predicted a near picture-perfect day for the beginning of the holiday weekend.
Expect sunny skies with a high in the lower 80s. Beach winds will be from northwest at around 10 miles per hour.
The UV index will be a nine, so bring the sunscreen.The surf will be around three feet, with south swells around two feet. The rip current risk is low, but strong currents can still occur near piers, jetties and are possible in other areas. Swim only where guards are present and discuss any possible surf zone hazards with them.

There is no lightning threat today. High tide at Barnegat Inlet was at 6:24 a.m. Low tide will occur at 12:36 p.m. High tide will occur again at 6:49 p.m.
